“Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you doesn’t mean you can, should or need to do it alone.”

Individual Sessions
Se
I predominantly make use of a client centred approach which allows me to be completely focused and guided by the client and the pace at which they are comfortable to move at. In order to effectively address a client’s difficulties, I rely on a holistic approach to individual counselling that takes into account all facets of the client’s life, including emotional, mental, physical, social, and perhaps even spiritual dimensions. My goal of holistic individual counselling is to support balance, self-awareness, and general well-being by highlighting the connections between many facets of a person’s life. The strategy is customised to meet each person’s specific requirements and aims to provide them the confidence to make good changes in a variety of areas of their lives.
The primary goals of my sessions are:
To guide an individual in understanding and addressing their challenges (emotions, situations etc.)
To aid in improving emotional well-being
To help in developing/implementing healthy and long-term coping strategies
I assist with personal development, grief, depression, anxiety, stress, divorce and abuse survivors. I provide individual sessions in-person (upon request) and virtually via Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and WhatsApp Video. All services are provided in English and Afrikaans.
Couples Sessions
Couples counselling, is a particular type of counselling that focuses on assisting people in romantic relationships to strengthen their bond, enhance communication, and resolve difficulties. I primarily make use of holistic approaches in my practice and for couples it is no different. Holistic couples counselling considers the mental, emotional, and occasionally even spiritual components of a couple’s relationship in addition to the individual’s general well-being.
The focus of my holistic couples counselling approach is to implement strategies that take into account the interdependence of the persons and their partnership.
These strategies seek to advance harmony, comprehension, and development in the relationship’s individual and group facets. Similar to the individual sessions, my couples sessions are also centred around what the couple would like to improve or achieve in their relationship. These sessions are divided between individual (each partner and myself ) and group (the couple and myself). Couples sessions are provided in-person (upon request) and virtually via Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and WhatsApp Video. This service is also provided in English and Afrikaans.
Sports Counselling
Sports counselling is a form of counselling that focuses on the psychological and emotional components of an athlete’s well-being and success. Sports counselling is a useful tool for athletes, coaches, and sports professionals to improve psychological resilience, overcome obstacles, and maximise performance. Sports counselling has several advantages that can improve a person’s participation in sports on both a psychological and physical level. Numerous advantages provided by sports counselling support athletes’ overall growth and wellbeing. Athletes may enhance their performance, overcome obstacles, and develop transferable skills by tending to the psychological and emotional components of playing sports.
I have been a competitive cyclist for the past 8years, I have competed in European tours, represented my country at World Champs and spent 3years riding for UCI Continental Women’s teams. Throughout my sporting career, I largely relied on sports counselling to help balance my life, remain focused on training and compete in a more professional and holistic manner. I believe that my sporting journey combined with my academic background has equipped me to guide, motivate and aid aspiring athletes achieve their goals!
Play Based Therapy
Play is a child’s natural language, and play-based therapy is a type of therapy that uses play as a way of expression and communication. This method works especially well with children, but it may also be tailored for individuals of different ages who might find classic talk therapy difficult. Play-based therapy’s main objective is to provide individuals with a secure and encouraging space to explore and communicate their ideas, emotions, and experiences in order to eventually foster emotional development and wellbeing. The playroom where my sessions are held is equipped with a diversity of toys, art equipment, and other creative materials.
There are many different ways to play, such as:
Role-playing
Games
Creative arts and crafts
Storytelling
Imaginative play
I keep an eye on the child’s various forms of play during the session to learn more about their feelings, ideas, and relationship styles. To make therapy exciting and pleasurable, I place a strong focus on play throughout sessions. Fun, in my opinion, is a crucial component of the procedure and enhances the therapeutic outcome.
